Open Decks at BASSTONE PLAYGROUND

As part of BASSTONE PLAYGROUND by Linett Kamala, Culture Within Newham is inviting budding young DJs and MCs to step up and try out their skills during the LIN KAM ART Open Decks sessions. Taking place within the ‘Performance’ area of this playful, family-friendly installation at The Music is Black Festival, it’s a chance to share your sound in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Whether you’re just starting out or building confidence, this is a great opportunity to practice, experiment and play.

  • Open to young DJs and MCs

  • Unpaid, informal performance slots

  • Bring your own USB (clean edits only)

  • Supportive, family-friendly setting.

Open Deck sessions on 13 and 14 June will be at:

  • 12-1pm

  • 2.30-3.30pm

  • 4.30-5pm

About BASSTONE PLAYGROUND

BASSTONE PLAYGROUND is an immersive art installation as part of The Music is Black Festival at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It features spaces for play and relaxation, and a unique LED and sound maypole at its centre. Across the weekend, the space will come alive with chilled dub, low-fi and instrumental music, alongside moments of communal dance and creativity.
