Join us this half term to experience The Sound Hive by Ricebox Studio, Culture Within Newham’s latest public artwork for Newham. On Thursday 30 October The Sound Hive will be popping up at Manor Park Library as part of Green Libraries Week.

The Sound Hive is an interactive sound and light installation inspired by the environment, which captures Newham’s soundscape from the point-of-view of our youngest residents.

The artwork follows the adventures of one very special bee, encouraging users to think about recycling and sustainability, while they take part in a collaborative music-making experience.

The Sound Hive is a family-friendly artwork, designed to appeal to young people aged under 11. Children will need a parent or guardian to attend the event with them.

The Sound Hive at Green Libraries week is delivered in partnership with London Borough of Newham.

About The Sound Hive

The Sound Hive was developed in collaboration with the Culture Within Newham Children’s Board. Ricebox Studio worked closely with 18 students from Gallions, Rosetta and New City primary schools, who played a key role in shaping the project.

Culture Within Newham set up the Children’s Board to give young voices input into Newham’s cultural and creative offering.

Learn more about the project on The Sound Hive project page.
