Join us to experience The Sound Hive by Ricebox Studio, Culture Within Newham’s latest public artwork for Newham. The Sound Hive will be part of the second annual Newham Citizen Science Fair.

The Sound Hive is an interactive sound and light installation inspired by the environment, which captures Newham’s soundscape from the point-of-view of our youngest residents.

The artwork tells the adventures of one very special bee, encouraging users to think about recycling and sustainability, while taking part in a collaborative music-making experience.

The Sound Hive is designed to appeal to young people aged under 11. Children will need a parent or guardian to attend the event with them.

About The Sound Hive

The Sound Hive was developed in collaboration with the Culture Within Newham Children’s Board. Ricebox Studio worked closely with a Children's Board consisting of 20 students from Gallions, Rosetta and New City primary schools, who played a key role in shaping the project.

Culture Within Newham set up the Children’s Board to give young voices input into Newham’s cultural and creative offering.

Learn more about the project on The Sound Hive project page.
